Description: Take an exciting tour around the world and discover the faces of the more than one thousand different kinds of bats that live - everywhere!
Do you like bananas? Bubblegum? If so, thank a bat! No bats, no bananas, no gum!
And did you know? Bats are the ONLY animals that help save the rainforests!
Besides that, a mother bat has only ONE baya (called a "pup") in an entire year!
There are many kinds of bats that are endangered or already extinct.
Entertaining kids and adults at nature centers, school classrooms, State Parks, birthday parties, and more, "Stephanie the Bat Lady" has been keeping her audiences fascinated, rolling with laughter, amazed, and delighted ever since she became a wildlife rehabilitator, rescuing her first bat in 1986. She includes myth and reality, peoples and cultures, biodiversity, and lots of audience interaction to teach and entertain - and even to help many overcome their fears and phobias about these fascinating little creatures.
And remember Magic Schoolbus with Ms. Frizzle? Stephanie wars a gown embellished with bats ever since she saw the one her hero Ms. Frizzle wore, partying with the grown-ups in one of those books.
And did you know? Stephanie's bats are soft as a mink, and they Purrr! No, you should never touch a wild bat, or any other animal with fur, because it might bite you. But she'll bring a bat pelt for you to pet, just to see for yourself.
Best suited for children ages 4 and up.

Description: Corinne grew up in the Madison area and now lives with her family in Marquette, Michigan. Her programs are always lively and extremely interactive, her audience joining her on a multitude of instruments or moving, singing, and adding to the stories. Her husband, science teacher and nature photographer Scot Stewart, adds slides of amazing insects, birds, and other natural phenomena to the show, helping to illustrate Corinne's philosophy about being fortunate enough to be a traveling performer, or "troubadour," which has a root that means "finder of treasure." This is the essence of what she strives to share as she travels. The treasures inside all of us, in our communities, and in our libraries! In addition, she conducts teacher-trainings and is an artist-in-residence for schools, libraries, nature centers, festivals, and conferences across the Great Lakes region since 1984. She is accompanied by her "extended family": guitar, banjo, bones, dulcimers, kantele, whistles, drums, recycled instruments, accordion (no, not that!!)--whatever she can find to draw people together, sharing music and stories. She works also as a music therapist, co-directs the Gitchee Gumee Guys Boys Choir, teaches Arts Integration courses in the Education Department of Northern Michigan University and UW-Madison's School of the Arts, teaches Musikgarten classes in her studio in Marquette, and co-founded Marquette's nature center. She toured for the Michigan Humanities Council with a lively program centered around the lore of the Finnish Sauna, and tours in Wisconsin with programs featuring Wisconsin history and lore, an outgrowth of her longtime relationship with UW's Heritage Ensemble and American Folklore Theatre of Door County. Her CD "I Sing Every Day of My Life!" received the American Library Association's Notable Recording Award. She has released two brand new recordings entitled "Mama Jam!" and "Singing Up the Moon!"

Description: Kip provides two types of audience interactive music shows: one for education and one for entertainment.
The educational version is called Rock-a-Roakie 4Kids and is designed for children between the ages of two and about twelve. It features a miniature rock band setup with (optionally) a regular size or toddler size drum set, as well as bass, guitar, and small PA system that integrates prerecorded music and karaoke style songs. Children use program materials to identify songs they want to try in a live band setting. Emphasis is on social skills (taking turns, patience, leading, and following), physical skills (large and fine motor movement, eye/ear/hand and body coordination, etc.), and mental skills (timing, identifying tones, using loud and quiet periods, etc.) with assisted reading (song lists and lyrics). Kip guides children through various stages of the demonstration, sign-up, participation, and performance processes in a fun, entertaining style. This program is suitable for small groups in classrooms, libraries, preschools, some museums, and other venues.
4Kids All Star Band is the entertainment version that features a full rock-style band setup for children and families of all ages. It includes two sizes of drum sets (one regular, one for smaller children) with a more elaborate stage setup and PA system. In this show, children and families, friends, relatives, teachers, etc., select songs to perform when called and, with the exception of MC/host assistance as stage manager to situate participants with the instruments before performing, are on their own to play, fake it, sing, and be the stars when it is their turn. This program/show is suitable for parties, assemblies, outings, special events or activities, lock-ins, fundraisers, and booster events.
Both shows are available Monday through Sunday, days and evenings.
Performing Area: Rock-a-Roakie 4Kids - 12 feet by 10 feet minimum, protected from weather/elements. 4 Kids All Star Band - 20 feet by 16 feet minimum, protected from weather/elements.

Web Site: www.hatrackstorytellers.org
Description: This group of adults and sometimes Hatrack (TM) Kids is dedicated to the fun of reading aloud and sharing that fun with the audience. Usually four people present a variety of stories mixing prose and poetry, and occasionally wearing imaginative hats to designate different characters. Listeners are drawn into the stories and the show encourages a person's imagination in making characters come alive. They are chosen with particular age groups in mind and can be geared to specific themes. In the past we have read for Episcopal Cathedral in Minneapolis all the way to Title I groups in basements. Nothing is impossible. Our goal is to demonstrate that reading is its own best reward. The program is tailor-made for its particular sponsor, taking into account the age level of the audience from preschool through the upper elementary grades, size of audience, the place of performance, and the purpose of the entertainment. Hatrack (TM) is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization performing throughout the State of Wisconsin since 1967. Sally has also written a book, How to Hatrack: Techniques of a Successful Readers Theatre for Children, published in JUne 2006.
